New Investigator Guidance

Successfully establishing a new and productive biomedical research program involves a multitude of tasks, from physically setting up research space, and equipment to obtaining funds to support the research effort. Several University resources are available to assist investigators in these tasks, and an awareness of these resources can accelerate the process of beginning a productive research program. OORHS has made educating newly employed Health Sciences investigators about the resources and services available to them at the University one of its primary objectives.

OORHS provides a New Investigator Handbook, which contains information valuable to researchers who are preparing to move to Pitt. In addition, members of the OORHS scientific staff invite newly employed Health Sciences investigators to meet with them on an individual basis, to discuss available resources. If you are a new investigator who would like to meet with an OORHS staff member please contact Dr. Anthony Brickner to arrange an appointment.
