Research Imaging Facilities
  • Center for Biologic Imaging provides centralized imaging services including light and fluorescent microscopy, confocal laser scanning and electron microscopy, advanced computer aided morphometry and image analysis.
  • Molecular Biosensor and Imaging Center is based at Carnegie Mellon University and is focused on the application of new technology to fundamental problems in biology and biotechnology and to development of advanced technology related to fluorescence-based reagents and light microscope imaging workstations.
  • The Pittsburgh NMR Center for Biomedical Research brings together scientists and clinical investigators from Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh in a concerted research program focusing on the application of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to the biomedical sciences.
  • Positron Emission Tomography Center at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) was established to conduct state-of-the-art research imaging studies at the University of Pittsburgh .
  • Magnetic Resonance Research Center (MRRC) is dedicated to the development and application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) for medical and biological research.
